Government Websites

At Woodman Park, we have some excellent subscription databases - websites we pay to use.  Here is a list of amazing government websites that are *FREE* and Librarian approved!

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration website is an excellent resource for children to learn about our solar system and space travel.  Click on "For Students" and there is a Kids Club, Fun Facts, and videos.

If Art is your child's interest, the National Gallery of Art website is excellent.  Click on "Education" and "NGAkids" for interactive art fun!

Ben's Guide (as in Ben Franklin) is a fun website that teaches kids about the US Government.

Click on "Kids" on the National Park Service website for interactive games, fun facts and videos.  Users can "Find a Park" and go on a virtual field trip.  There is even a web cam on a Hawaiian Volcano!

There is more to the Central Intelligence Agency than spies!  Click on "Kids Zone" for fun facts and games.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration has a great website for kids that includes games, puzzles and even a glossary.

The Smithsonian Kids website is "Seriously Amazing."  Not just art, the website has links to many areas of interest: animals, history, air and space, dinosaurs - you name it!
